🚘 Bengaluru to Kolkata - 1,900 KM (point to point) passing through 4 states ⚠️We drove ~ 2100 KM (home to home with detours due to roadblocks)🏨2 night stays at Tirupati & Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam & Nellore while returning ✓ Driving time - 33-35 hrs nonstop💰 Cost: Petrol: 22K on petrol (both ways) Hotel (4N): 14K Food (5 days): 5-7K Toll: 70 ⚠️ Advanced return flights are way cheaper📝 Here are a few tips for inexperienced first-time travellers like us for long road trips in India✓ Experienced ones drive nonstop or with just one overnight stop to save time & money. Not recommended for first-timers ✓ Sleep well. Take frequent breaks. Have some tea/coffee. Do stretching. A sleepless, fatigued body is dangerous while driving ✓ Hotel recos - along the highway to avoid city traffic, with secured, gated parking, including breakfast (only if u prefer late night driving) ✓ Pack for the road separately. Saves hassle of loading, unloading, unpacking & repacking bags every day ✓ Purchase FASTag Annual Pass (3K) ✓ Best time to drive: early morning or late night ✓ Road Condition: excellent except for some narrow stretches without lane dividers ✓ Vehicles on highways use high beams. If not comfortable, avoid driving at night ✓ Plenty food options along the way. ✓ keep some dry snacks, water in stock ✓ 150 km long stretch b/w Srikakulam & Berhampur have no good hotels or food options.
